Our Ministries

Activities That Help Spread Faith

We are the church in the heart of the city with Christ’s mission at heart. As you look through the ministries we do not see them as a set of programs we offer to attract membership. Rather, we see them as a list of how we serve each other as a faith family and how we seek to serve those in our community and beyond.

Family Ministry

Adults
Our desire is to see every adult engaged in the life of our church and using their gifts to serve the body. We have multiple Sunday School classes, senior adult activities, single adult outings, choir, and hand bells. Our men and women also serve in a variety of ministries to our community as well as in our church.

Join one of our Sunday School classes:

Young Adults and Not So Young Adults (YANSY) for ages 28-45, taught by Cliff Hudson

Dr. JE Calloway Class, Ages 45+, taught by Beverly Kemp and Wayne Veazey

Betty Appleby Class, Ages 50+, taught by David Crowson

Discipleship, Ages 60+, taught by Giles Ward and Harry Kemp

We also have in-home small groups that meet every other Sunday evening.

Please contact us for more information on finding the group that fits you best!

Youth and Children’s Ministry
The heart of our youth and children’s ministry is to partner with parents in the discipleship process. There are many milestones we as a church share with the families to help in the spiritual formation process.

Our youth and children’s ministries have weekly opportunities on Wednesday and Sunday nights. There are also many retreats, trips, and celebrations opportunities for our students.

Nursery
We do provide a nursery for families with young children so they can participate and trust that their child is being well cared for.

For more information about how to connect to any of these ministries please contact our Associate Pastor Newlie Long (link my email address) or our Secretary, Debra Child’s.

Ministries and Missions

Local Ministries and Partnerships
Backpacks of Hope, helps provide food over the weekend for children in need through our local schools.

Good Samaritan Food Pantry, is a monthly opportunity to help bridge the gap for those vulnerable in our community.

Cornerstone Clinic, provides low-cost or no-cost medical needs to those in our community.

Global Missions

We partner with Hispaniola Mountain Ministries to serve regularly in Haiti and the Dominican Republic.

We also support work in Honduras through Baptist Medical and Dental Mission International (BMDMI) and Katie and Todd Moody serving there as missionaries.

Although these are our focus, our work and opportunities to serve globally are not limited to these partners.
